So, after another delay, we have a new episode. We talk about the latest news, and are impressed by the FSF’s new priority list. Then we get realllly angry about EULAs in our two minutes hate. After this, we do our first in a series of reviews of free software media players. And finally, we discuss the impact of the recession on the free software economy.
32:20 Two Minutes Hate - EULAs
38:30 Media Player Review part 1 - Bashee and Amarok 1
47:40 Clever Segment - The Recession and Free Software

So, we’re back after our little break, with better sound quality. We sink our teeth right into the latest and greatest news, including the amazing news from SGI. Then, we send a shipment of hate to the evil DRM fiends at Spore, review TuxGuitar and cleverly discuss the links between Science and free software. Finally, we wrap up the show with some listener feedback.
I’m sorry to say that the podcast is missing a week, whilst we look for new sound recording equipment. Hopefully, though, this will mean better sound quality. Also, if you sent an email to our new address, you may have to resend it, as we have had some forwarding issues (which are fixed now). See you next week.
This week is going to be a little different - the show is longer for a start. We cover this weeks news and express our anger in the Two Minutes Hate as usual, but we also have an interview with Matt Lee from the FSF, mainly about the the recent Stephen Fry video. Remember, you can discuss the show on IRC, the forum or email us feedback.

1:12:00 Feedback - Tim Dobson has remixed our theme, Fred Phillips calls us Freedom Haters and Ben Asselstine points us to revealingerrors.com
The sixth sockload of freedom from Freedom Socks. We decide last weeks episode never happened, turn into GNU/Freedom nutters, go over the news, unleash even more hate than usual. We also discuss free software around the world, and how to make people care about free software, before finishing off by reading some feedback.
If you’re young and in the northwest of England, you should go to DFEY! If you’re in Canada, you should go to Ontario Linux Fest.

The fifth episode of Freedom Socks! This episode is a bit different to say the least. Joe is on holiday at the moment, so this episode features a friend called Jamie. Unfortunately, the pesky echo has also snuck back in a little. So, basically, this show is not representitive of the others, although we’d love to hear your feedback.

Yes, thats right, another Episode of Freedom Socks!!! This time we’ve recorded with Jokosher, so hopefully we’ll have slightly better audio quality. However, Jokosher has been a bit of a bitch, so there may still be hickups - and there is still a bit of echo in places

We are Freedom Socks, free from the ground up!! A podcast about GNU/Linux and free software in general. The name is a bit contradictory, since if you truly want freedom, you'd best not wear socks :D. However, we do have a rather cool penguin-in-a-sock mascot.
The podcast is hosted by Ben Webb and Joe Henthorn, both 17 and from Manchester, England.
Ben is the absolute freedom nut, who is currently starting to use gNewSense.
Joe, who Ben introduced to GNU/Linux, is currently running Ubuntu.
